GOVERNORS

In line with the School’s Royal Charter, responsibility for the governance of the School resides with the Board of Governors. The Board is composed of representatives of the business community, parents and staff.

The Board's primary focus is the strategic oversight of the School; daily management is delegated to the Principal. The officers of the Board are the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer. The School Bursar acts as Clerk to the Board.

As set out in BSM’s Royal Charter, representatives of the original subscriber/founder companies who were instrumental in establishing the School constitute the majority of the Board. In addition, there are two Parent Governors elected by parents and two representatives of the teaching staff. The Principal, Heads of School and Bursar attend the Board’s meetings.

The President of the School is the British Ambassador, whose representative will normally attend Board meetings.

At each Annual General Meeting, representatives are elected or appointed to fill any vacancies on the Board itself or on any of its sub-committees.
