Language
for Learning
Our students represent over 60 nationalities making our classrooms diverse, multicultural learning environments. We celebrate this diversity at the same time as realising that some pupils may need extra support to fully access the curriculum at BSM, which is taught in English.
Our staff are extremely experienced in supporting children who speak two or more languages. Pupils receive support both within the classroom and in separate specialist classes as necessary.
We believe that no student should be disadvantaged in pursuing their education and aim to provide an inclusive system of support that helps nurture and empower every individual, so that our students become confident, happy learners.
Learning Support
The highly experienced Learning Support team at BSM supports children in the four areas of learning; speech and communication, cognition and learning, emotional/behavioural, sensory and physical.
We provide targeted support and advice with the aim of helping pupils become independent learners so that they can participate fully in the academic and social life of the school.
Through a programme of tailored support, the progress of pupils is carefully monitored and recorded, with consultation and feedback to parents being a vital and integral part of the learning process.
We work with specialists including speech therapists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists both in Oman and overseas to provide the best support and assessment for our pupils within our international context.
